The Medical Professional · Physician Assistant (PA)
“I chose the Guard because going to PA school was a priority. I had all of my undergraduate education paid for by the Oregon National Guard. Now, I am in the Interservice Physician Assistant Program (IPAP) — a fully funded military program that allows me to become a PA debt-free while getting paid to study.
The Leader · Master's in Public Policy
“I chose part-time service to attend college full-time. I now hold a Master's degree in Public Policy. The military taught me project management and cross-functional teamwork that directly enhances my civilian career.

Hometown Service

Every summer, hundreds of Oregon Citizen-Soldiers volunteer and deploy to the fire lines. We provide critical manpower and aviation water drops to protect Oregon's forests, homes, and infrastructure.
When winter storms trap motorists or floods threaten towns, we bring the High Water Vehicles and the manpower to help. We are there when the roads are closed and the power is out.
Our aviation crews work with local Sheriff's offices to perform high-angle rescues of lost hikers and climbers on Mt. Hood and in the Cascades. We bring loved ones home.

Why Partnerships Matter
When the Guard supports community events, the greatest impact occurs when the public understands:
Who We Are
A state-based military force made up of Oregonians serving their communities.
Why We Are Present
To connect with Oregon communities and open pathways for service and growth.
How We Serve Oregon
Through disaster response, education, workforce development, and community engagement.
Clear recognition strengthens public awareness, community trust, and long-term relationships. Partnerships help ensure our shared efforts create meaningful community connection.
To help maximize awareness and engagement, we ask partners to consider the following when collaborating with the Oregon Army National Guard.
Acknowledge Guard participation with tagged posts across your channels before and after the event.
Banner or signage recognition at the event location — Guard-provided or partner-created.
Reference the Oregon Army National Guard in your event communications and promotional materials.
Informational table or booth space when appropriate for the event format.
Include Oregon Army National Guard branding and messaging where it fits within the event.
Encourage attendees to learn more about Guard opportunities at the event.
Include Guard information in event-related email communications sent to participants.
Allow Oregon Army National Guard content creation teams access to capture event moments.
These are collaborative asks — not hard requirements. We work with each partner to find what fits best for your event and audience.
